I too have the same problem with a Win2k server as Internet Gateway and the Linux (Mandrake 8.0) box will see the gateway if I enter a static IP address, not DHCP, but it still cannot connect through the gateway to the internet.
Any Ideas?

Which computer is the DHCP server? I happen to have the opposite problem, the Win 2K computer won't access the internet through the Linux computer, but it won't even telnet to Linux or anything either. Win 2K definately has some networking flaws.

If you define IP and gateway, You should be able to. Make sure your firewall is configured correctly and NAT is running.

The gateway definately works because a Win 98 machine uses the internet through it. I set up the IP, gateway, and DNS on the Win 2K machine. The funny thing is that it won't even telnet the Linux machine. It won't do anything but ping it. Basically it's being a hardass. I think it just knows that it's a Linux machine and it won't talk to it.
