Im a newbie and im trying to set up my linux machine to a LAN with Windows computers, (via router). But not of that matters since, apparently, linux is not detecting my network card. When I type ifconfig, i see "lo", but "eth0" is missing. I'm using Linux 7.0 and the network card is a LinkSys EtherFast 10/100. Im sure the harware is securely fastened, :D. What is the problem, pleese help.

Linksys can be very tricky with Linux...But Linksys does have a good area of their website the tells you how to install Linux drivers...

Check out...
http://www.linksys.com/support/support.asp?spid=25

But it can get pretty technical...so make sure you look something up if you don't know what it's talking about or you could really screw up your machine.

Searching the forums for 'linksys' will most likely give you enough suggestions to get it going. Very popular subject those linksys cards are.
