Anyone know if the U.S. Robotics 56K* Faxmodem PCI for Windows work with RedHat 7.1? I know it says 'for Windows', but I was hoping otherwise since I already have this modem. :) If it doesn't, what type of 56K modem shall I buy? Thanks!

do a man isapnpdump ( i think). Read through there and it should tell you to do an isapnpdump to isapnp.conf file and might be able to use it like that. The winmodem how-to should walk you through it.

If I believe correctly, that is a winmodem. My experience was, when I had RH 6.2, I had to download linux drivers or winmodem drivers to install the modem. For some odd reason RH 7.1 just decided to install my zoom modem just fine. If anything look at the NHF, it has a link to someone's web site that has full information regarding about modems/winmodems. Eventually I think you have to use linmodem drivers or something.
