I've been setting up samba, now I can't get linuxconf to start. I'm not sure what exactly I did to make it stop working. Here is my error message when I type linuxconf at the command prompt.

Error message from remadmin :Xib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Error message from remadmin :Xlib: Invalid MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 key
Error message from readmin :
Error message from remadmin "Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0

Thinking back, I did change my root password in linuxconf, but I thought that would change my password for root when I was logging onto the system. My system password is the same - it didn't change. Could this have something to do with it? If so, how do I change it back?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Looks like a problem with the X display portion of linuxconf, if you go to a command line interface, you may be able to get it running... Perhaps you could find the problem then.

I tried both the GUI and the command line. Neither will work.
