Seperate Firewall Question

If I get an old machine and use it as a firewall, how will that effect programs like audio galaxy, morpheus, gnutella, and online games?
I think that they may not work, but will they?

it all depends on the firewall and how tight it is and what ports the games use

i use www.coyotelinux.com (http://www.coyotelinux.com) as my router/firewall, and i have no problems
i think it also has to do with the fact that your pc initiates the connection to an outside IP, not just some random thing trying to come in on the unusual port number that the games use

i have an old pc/router/firewall box i am trying to sell, if you need one ;)

Hmmm, so would I just like need to modify the firewall's script to allow access on the port?
