Anyone know what the first distribution to use the 2.4 kernel will be....beside RH7 which "utilizes" the new kernel?

Also - when is it estimated to be released?

Well, my guess will be Redhat or Mandrake, probably 'drake.

And, it will be ready when it is ready. Someone posted earlier today about a december due date on one of the forums here, dunno if it was trolling or what.

If you are really impatient, you could always just do a LFS system www.linuxfromscratch.org (http://www.linuxfromscratch.org)

Linux said the kernel will be out in December. He also said he hopes that it will be ready at the end of November, before his daughter is born. It's on www.linuxtoday.com (http://www.linuxtoday.com) or slashdot.org. Can't remember which.

Its a damn good kernel. I am running 2.4 test 10 now and will never go back to any previous version. Take it for a spin, you'll enjoy it. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

What does it matter when the first distro to ship with it is? If you need it, just upgrade. It's really easy - I'm running 2.4.0-test10 with Debian 2.3.
