::sigh:: ok, short short short version

apt-getted (apt-got?) up to the new version of balsa (supposedly) to start out with, and when I run it, it needs to make the config file .balsarc, so it launches it's setup and asks me some questions, so, I input them. When I get to the point where I want to setup the folders for it, it says that the inbox would be /var/spool/mail/unruly -- which doesn't work when I click next. It just gives me a blank screen with back and cancel buttons.

What's going on here?

I had to log into X as root.... when confronted with the setup window... Anywhere it said root, I changed to my user name. Example:

/var/spool/mail/root changed to

/var/spool/mail/my user name

Not the best way to do it probably but it worked for me.

Rod

I had to do the exact same thing. I was not too happy about having to run as root to use balsa. I even tried creating the directories before the install but that didn't help either.
