damm networking no pings :(

ok i'm running debinan 2.3 and i did a system update and since rebooting my box no longer exists on the network ??
i do a ifconfig the flags are as follows

UP BROADCAST RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST
ok i know that notr having arp cant be a good thing so ifconfig eth0 arp

UP BROADCAST RUNNING ARP MULTICAST
it pings fine then about a minute later :(

UP BROADCAST RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST

grrr anyone help??? :confused:

hmmmm still no avail i tryed reinstalling "net-tools" but no luck
it seems that when it is in use no problems but as soon as you stop it drops it :confused:
