I just installed RedHat 6.0 and have gotten my ethernet card to be recognized. I can ping people in my LAN but not any internet sites (either their ip or their www.__.com)eg. (http://www.__.com)eg.)
ping www.yahoo.com (http://www.yahoo.com)
ping: unknown host www.yahoo.com (http://www.yahoo.com)

The only thing I remembered from winipcfg was me nic's IP address
I'm guessing that I need to enter a gateway address or somthing along those lines..

any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx :-)

Some more info:
I'm using a NE2000 PCI driver (not sure what kind of card)
ifconfig -a sees my card just fine.
I use dhcp to get the ip (but I also entered my old ip, is this a prob?)
do I need to enter in a DNS somewhere?

ping yahoo's ip
ping 204.71.200.243

cause if that works then you need
to setup the dns to be your isp's also.

I got it to work.. I had to put the DNS servers in the 'nameservers' list in the network configuration window

-Thanx :-)
