BTW, Craig what marker are you using on that CD? Sharpie? I have a TDK CD marker but it is too fine and I want a nice fat (and phat) marker.

Well, I adjusted my printer resolution and still couldn't get it, so I'm about 20 hours in on the iso from my local mirror.. Ofcourse, everything on my computer is more upgraded than 2.2r2, but if I need to reinstall or install on another computer (which I will shortly enough) it'll be nice to have. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

That "Marks-A-Lot" plug sounds supiciously like a Alan Kalter schpeel... Sharpie fan myself.

I found that if I downloaded tha image, then took it into photoshop and did some fine tuning, brought it into Neato, and pressed out a sticker.. which i then applied to that new AOL 5.0 (well the cd was new, but i realize that 6 is out) CD i got the other day - with 56K turbo on it... it installed Debian like no one's business... saweet.

Dude, you have to print the OTHER side, DUH! That's where the data is, gawd. :rolleyes: With THAT I can simply print it up, tape it onto a blank CD-R and be good to go.

But if you save it, it will save both sides right? I mean it's a jpeg, it saves as a 3 dimensional image, right? I saved it as an iso and I'm going to burn it soon. Wish me luck.

No no. No.

The data is actually stored near the TOP of the disc. Yes, it's READ through the bottom, but the data itself is actually right under the label, so that scratches to the bottom of the disc have less of a chance of destroying the data: you can basically sandpapper the bottom of the disc if it gets scratched, and be able to read the disc again, because the data is at the top.

(Man, I don't think I like this new UBB version. I've been on UBB boards for like 3-4 years now, but this upgrade makes me slightly ill...)
