After nearly a month of depressing trial and error, I finally got my Netgear card to work. I have Mandrake Linux 7.2. It comes with a gcc that is quite broken when it comes to the Donald Becker drivers. I simply could not get them to compile. I was reading some posts in deja about people trying to get their kernels to compile under RH 7 (and there were quite a few http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif and I came across a reference to an rpm called kgcc that would compile it. Intrigued, I downloaded it, and wonder of wonders, the drivers compiled! Of course, then I had to figure out how to get the drivers to autoload on startup (used the nice gui linuxconf), but finally it loaded, and I have a faster kb/s connection than I do under windoze! Linux is really the best OS http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif!
