Easier than ever.
1- Use Windows 2000 (whatever version). Win98 is crap.
2- Share the internet connection like you would normally do. (see Windows help pages)
3- Set the linux box to ask adress to DHCP server.
4- Voila! You're done, with no 3rd party software.
Hehehe :-)

why would you even have win2k to play frisbee? it's over priced and it kinda stings when you touch the cd (i'm not kidding) imagine if you got that stinging cd embeded in you

Im using windows ME as opposed to 2k, (the machine its running on is quite old, an the owner doesn't see the linux penguin as friendly i guess), and the DHCP option wouldn't funtion. To get around this: I booted into 9x, (assuming you have 9x to dual boot into) and used winipcfg to gatehr the neccesary info, (like what IP the dhcp server thought i ought to have), and then set up eth0 as a static IP, with the network ip (192.168.*) as the external IP. Set the gateway to whatever that gateway is (probably 192.168.0.1) and it works like a charm. Has some troubles with direct connects on things like AIM and napster.
