After much searching and experimentation, I have found that Gnumeric 0.56 (personally I got it, among many other things, off the SuSE 7.0 install CDs) works very well in KDE if I disable the KDE clipboard. Otherwise I get "segmentation fault" when I try to use Edit, Copy.

I hope this helps someone out there. Hey, at least with Linux I can figure out and solve my own problems.
