Hello All-

I'm familiar with setting up anonymous ftp with the packages that come with RedHat. I have a friend using SUSU on a Mac. He's lost his pkgs cd and we'll be in a time crunch tonight setting ftp up (can only spend about 30 mins. with him.) Can I just bring my RedHat cd over and set it up with the ftp rmp pkgs as I did with my macine, or will there be conflicts somehow?

Thanks,

Lag

RPM's work on all machines that support them EXCEPT RH7 RPM's. RH7 has more snapshots of the latest and greatest than you shake a stick at. Consequently it makes all binaries (rpm's) incompatible with everything else. Other RPM's work fine on RH7 tho; it only works one way.

Thanks for the response. I'll give 'em a try on the SUSE machine.
