Well, I'm still 'hacking' away at the install and this is where I'm stuck now. I enter the XF86Setup program and config my hardware, then boot (?) in to X windows the screen goes pink with vertical lines (can't see anything except the X mouse-barely). When I exit; Linux states I'm running the wrong "virtual terminal" - please switch. My config is as follows:
Trident (PCI) GUI 9680 Chipset (video card)
Super VGA
Memory = 1024 kbytes
RAMDAC: Trident 15/16/24 bit DAC (6 bit mode)
Terminal (I think) = tty1 (using who am i)

When I'm at the /root]# prompt, what do I need to do to switch terminals? Thanks again for your help!!

I've got some more info on this.
I think I have my hardware setup now, but I'm receiving a "execve failed for /usr/X11R6/bin/X (errno 13) xinit: server error." message. Any ideas? Also, where can a I get a list of Linux commands (like vi, whoami etc . . )? I still don't know how to open/edit/close files . . .

Thanks again,
