Greetings,

We are interested in replacing some Windows NT file servers with a Solaris counterpart, and using the Netlink software package to emulate an NT server on the Solaris box. I have a few questions about doing this. Has anyone used Netlink before, and what is your overall impression of the package? Will Solaris allow multiple users to have different permissions to a file without being in a group? An example would be:

user1: read only
user2: read and write
user3: read, write and execute

All for the same file. NT will allow this, and Linux will not since you basically have owner, group, world. I am not that familiar with the Solaris filesystem.

Thanks in advance for any responses, I am hoping that someone on here can give me a hand with this.

Thanks,
Mike
