Hey all, I've been using debian for a couple weeks and really enjoying it. As I get better with linux I start to wonder about unix. I like the look and amount of support around with BSD... but I'm not sure if I should make the jump. How different is Unix from Linux? I've only been using linux for about three months, computers for about eight. But BSD seems to me like it would be the next logical step in gaining expertise and computing power. Anyone wanna sell me on it?

Well,
All you have to gain is knowledge right? I have been a user of FreeBSD for close to 3 years.. maybe more.. I like it alot.. better then i like SOlaris even.. Give it a shot and if you dont like it change back... the more machines you build, the more you will know and understand/...

Maybe you could want to try slackware before. It uses a BSD init model so you can get use to it before switching to the other os.
I'm also considering switching to BSD (either free or open~) as I guess the reasons why I like slackware much more than any other distribution would be even stronger in BSD.
