EscapeCharacter 11-28-2000, 12:26 AM ive played with it a bit its pretty cool ------------------ I like source it never *****es about dependencies --Escchr 2000 SolarFlux 11-28-2000, 02:00 AM I played with it a bit, but you can't do anything with it! guitarlyn 11-28-2000, 02:07 AM I play with it every once in a while. Really nice when you get it set up to port Linux apps (very clean), but not useful for a server, strictly desktop. ------------------ ~Guitarlynn rppp01 12-04-2000, 02:31 AM ---- you get it set up to port Linux apps (very clean)---- How difficult is it to port apps from Linux to QNX? I love the interface it comes with, and I also think it is a good desktop (or has the potential). What did you need/have to do to get it working? Wonock 12-13-2000, 11:26 PM Here's a question ... what exactly is QNX? Wonock Larkfellow 12-20-2000, 07:33 AM Originally posted by Wonock: Here's a question ... what exactly is QNX? Wonock Check out www.qnx.com (http://www.qnx.com) for more info about it. It's a micro-kernel *nix clone. lancelotdulac 12-28-2000, 07:00 PM I played with it for a little while, until my computer did not want to work any more. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gif I think something on my motherboard must have overheated because LINUX kept crashing, Be kept crashing, even QNX was crashing. So I removed every card and replaced the video card with an older card that I had lying around and tried to reinstall linux. Nothing, Linux wouldn't even re-install. I removed everything but the bare necessities (cdrom drive, hard drive, floppy drive and video card) still wouldn't reinstall, just kept crashing with every attempt. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gif http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gif Oh well, that's life, as soon as I get some extra cash I will replace the mother board and start over again. Anyway, getting back to the topic at hand, I liked what little I was able to play with on QNX. I wasn't able to find the time to figure out how to get it to recognize my modem, therefore, I couldn't download anything extra for it, but the stuff that came with the CD seemed very good. I just can't wait until I can get a new motherboard and CPU so I can start playing with it again. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif justlinux.com
