Buy the "UNIX System Administration Handbook " instead - $68. The FreeBSD handbook online is more than enough.

Amazon is a ripoff...

Try bookpool (http://www.bookpool.com/.x/nsx5f9n54n/ss/1?qs=UNIX+System+Administration+Handbook) instead. Only 58.95 there!

Not quite true in this case. The UNIX System Administation Handbook 3rd Edition has just been published. So you will not find it in a used bookstore. Get the 3rd edition for sure and don't even think of the first or 2nd editions. I have all three and the 3rd edition really hops. Has Solaris, FreeBSD and Linux procedures and hints. This is the best book for a budding Sys Admin and old Sys Admin's like myself.
