I'm looking for a cheap second hand ( ~ £50 ) Mac to play with, I am looking to put linux PPC on and network it. Is this posible? Can I use a PC network card in a Mac? I've never owned a mac, or even used one, before.

Welcome. First I would look on this site to see what Mac are supported

http://www.linuxppc.com/ If all you can find is a very old Mac, then you would have to go with MkLinux, or NetBsd.

You shouldn't have much trouble networking the Mac, being they have had to live in a world of Intel boxes. I don't know about networking, so you will have to look to someone else to help.
comp.os.linux.powerpc is a good newsgroup, they can give you some pointers.
