I am running a Preforma 6400/180 under macOS 8.6 and LinuxPPC 2k. Under macOS I have two monitors running side-by-side (one in the built in video and one on a voodoo 3).
When I run Linux the monitor in the voodoo is used. If I unplug it the one in the mac works.
Is their a way to run both as on macOS? If so, how do you set it up? Kernel argument in bootX?
Thanks for any input

Use mac for user friendlyness
Use linux for power
Use Windoze to appreciate the other 2

Currenty, Xfree86 doesn't support multiple monitors (heads). But you can buy commercial X servers that support multiple heads. The only one I can think of right now is Metro X, at www.metrolink.com (http://www.metrolink.com) . Unfortunately, Metro X only supports the Intel and Alpha archs. But you may be able to find another company that supports Mac.

And don't flame me because it's not free or open software. It's just an option. Your other option is to wait for Xfree86 to include multi head support. Goto www.xfre86.org (http://www.xfre86.org) to see how things are coming along.

Have Fun

Is there any way that I could set up the second monitor as a second terminal. I have 2 keyboards (one serial and one USB), and two mice?
