Yellow Dog - XWindows Scrambled

Ok, I'm a super Linux newbie. I installed YDL on my beige PowerMac G3. Everything went well but when I start up xwindows, everything is scrambled up. I can make out some things but it's a mess. Could my monitor settings be the cause of this pain?

No you have a bad case of Linux eyes. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif Clean your glasses and then as root type:
/usr/X11R6/bin/Xconfigurator. Follow the instructions, then try startx.

I hope that helps. I'm a newbie too, so if that doesn't work, maybe there is something else that needs to be done. The above command will walk you through the autoconfiguration of your monitor.

I have to do it when I change my monitor settings in the MacOS.
