Ok, I am trying to build up a system with
AMD Athelon & FIC AZ11E Motherboard combination. The new FIC motherboard has ATA100 support and I wonder if whether or not current Linux kernel (2.2.15 or greater) support this. Does anyone here know?

If anyone has tried this MB with Linux, please let me know of any problems might occur.

Thanks,
MD

I followed the procedures here http://linux.nf/stepbystep.htm for Ultra66 to setup my Promise ATA100 controller and everything works fine. I just had to figure out how to make the necessary changes in grub instead of the suggested lilo.conf.

It was the best one I found on the subject and the easiest to follow.

ATA100/66 is fully supported under 2.4.0-test series of kernel. For kernel 2.2.15 and up you need to get Andre Hedrick's ide patch and apply it to you kernel source.Of course there are other ways to get Linux going on ata100/66 (hint: check the NHF).Hope this helps.
