For the past 10 days i have been trying to get Gnome to boot. Sometimes it will (not often). I have the Gnome sh script in my Sessions dir, so that when i login i have the choice of several DM's and WM's, all my other WM's and KDE ( the other DM) work fine.

This has only happened since i updated my GDM. If i remove Gnome from the Sessions dir and reboot. then reinstall Gnome into the Sessions, then it works, but only for that session, If i logout and login again, then Gnome starts to boot, but seems to go to my Default WM (IceWM) and then goes back to the login screen.

I would remove Gnome and reinstall, but there would be to many dependency problems, as i use Evolution and a few other Gnome type programs. Its not that i use Gnome a lot, its just bugging the bejesus out of me, that i cant figure out why its doing it.

In the .gnome-errors file in my ~ dir it says this:
" GDK Warning locale not supported by C library"
" GDK error X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown"
" ICE default IO error handler doing exit (PID=912 errno=0)"
subshell.c couldn't get terminal settings inapropriate ioctl for device"

I have checked my locale and it seems o.k. Everything points to C. I have done export LC_ALL=C and export LOCPATH (with all the paths to my locales).

Any help with this is appreciated, as i'm just about to throw my box out the window :D
Cheers
