I used apt-get in my debian distro to upgrade to woody. When I try to start kde2, I get this weird error
error while loading shared libraries:/usr/local/kde/lib/libkdecore.so.3:
undefined symbol:getButtonShift__14QPlatinumStyleRiT1

I have gotten this error both with using the source tar.gz's and the binary .deb's. Thank you for any help.

P.S. - I had to set up XFree86 4.0.2 so that my video card would work and for the mouse I used the symbolic (i think?) link /dev/gpmdata. I have no clue if that would have something to do with it.

Hmmm. Maybe I should include a line about screenshots and then people would help me. Worth a thought, anyway. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

Oh I just thought I'd point one thing out - I did upgrade to technically unstable system, but Woody is pretty stable (heck, it's been around forever). So don't sit back and snort and say "What a loser! Upgrades to an unstable system with tons of bugs and expects people to help him! Sheesh!". Pretty much the whole reason I upgraded is for KDE2 and the nice, time saving apps.

One can install KDE2 on a Potato system...

Anyway, this sounds like there may be an incompatible library version installed somewhere...
