I just switched from KDE to Enlightment. And I have a couple questions, things I knew how to do in KDE but am at a loss for in Enlightment:

1. In ablications like GKrealm that don't have a titlebar, how can I make it sticky?

2. The Emenue(middle mouse button click) it's not referincing all my applications, how can I add them? speicifcly Eterm.

3. What's the easiest way to get items to open at start-up?

4. So that I stop asking a bunch of questions, is there a good "KDE to Englightment" or just plain Englightment newbie website or helpfile? I tried enlightment.org but it seamed more geared towerds developers.

/edit
5. What's everyone's favorite E theme?

Thanks

if you meant gkrellm, then get you must use the
gnome-gkrellm plugin (http://web.wt.net/~billw/gkrellm/Plugins/). Theres rpms available on rpmfind.net if you don't want to compile from source :)

For borderless windows like gkrellm you can get the options menu by doing ALT - right mouse click.

Select the option

Stick/Unstick

Then to ensure that this setting is remembered select the Remember... item from this menu. In the dialog that comes up select 'Sticky State'. The remember option also allows you to store window size, border style, location etc..

Theme wise, I quite like Blue Steel which I've been using for ages. Did try Apple Platinum too which was quite nice.

Look under ~/.enlightenment for user_apps.menu and file.menu

file.menu is what controls how the menus appear, and user_apps.menu is a menu file. You can create your own, just put them in file.menu

I'm in /home/useraccount/.enlightment and I can't find the above mentioned files. I typed ls -a to list all and this is all I have is:

user_theme.cfg cached/ backgrounds/ themes/ .initlized

Are enlightment configs contained in another location? If so where?

And I have a new question. How can you make something now iconfiy? My kppp account after it dials it automaticly goes into the icon box, I want it to stop doing that automaticly, how do I go about acomplishing that?

For kppp, you have to go into the options and turn off Minimize on connect.

If you don't have a file.menu, create one. I'll post the format to use when I get home later.

Ok, as promised here is how you format your menu files.

my file.menu looks like this

"User Menus"
"Applications" NULL menu "user_apps.menu"
"Internet" NULL menu "internet.menu"
"Games" NULL menu "games.menu"
"Graphics" NULL menu "graphics.menu"
"Multimedia" NULL menu "multimedia.menu"
"Restart Enlightenment" NULL exec "/usr/local/enlightenment/bin/eesh -e 'restart'"
"Log Out" NULL exec "/usr/local/enlightenment/bin/eesh -e 'exit'"

And user_apps.menu looks like this

"Applications"
"Eterm" NULL exec "Eterm"
"Nedit" NULL exec "nedit"
"CBB" NULL exec "cbb"
"Abiword" NULL exec "abiword"
"Gnumeric" NULL exec "gnumeric"
"Acroread" NULL exec "/usr/local/Acrobat4/bin/acroread"
