I know it must be expensive to do the work of developing new distribution releases and making them easier to install. I went to my local computer superstores to check out the new releases of Linux using the 2.2 kernal. I have Redhat 5.2 and thought the install was downright easy. I then bought SuSE 6.0 about a month ago. It was a little less friendly, but not bad.
I got to the store to check out RH 6.0 and SuSE 6.1. I was shocked to see a $79.00 price tag on RH. I bought SuSE 6.1 for $29.00 and got it up and running on my new PII450 (my god it rocks, this thing is fast!!!!!).
I don't want you guys/gals to think I'm cheap, my wife and I single handedly pulled America out of the recession in the earily 90's with our spending, and were doing our best to keep the current economy afloat. But RH is getting up there with MS pricing.
Has anyone tried RH 6.0, is it worth the $$$$.$$? Other than kernal 2.2, is there any advantages to buying RH 6.0 over buying 5.2 and upgrading the kernal? Let me know.
