How do i find out which shared libraries a program is linked to so I dont have to have any unnecessary libraries lying around?

Yah, ldd will do it.

Are you wanting to get rid of libs for space reasons? If so, instead of deleting, try stripping the debug and whatnot out of them. WARNING - this can wreck your system, as I found out the hardway.
