Hello!

First Problem When I log in as root and startx (using gnome 1.2 under redhat 6.2) the "file manager" and "gnome-help-browser" windows insist on appearing. How can I get these processes to stop?

And related second problem When I log in as _user_ I get two (2) separate instances of "gnome-help-browser" starting. I can find no specific line in any of the startup scripts to account for two different "gnome-help" processes and can't permanently kill them.

Help.

Thanks!

/SMichelle

When you log out make sure that the "save changes on exit" check box is clicked.

Not to make myself sound even sillier than I feel ...I thought that the "save settings on exit" was checked -- I checked it and the icon looked visually embossed IN. Whereas to have that option selected the icon needed to look visually embossed OUT.

I learn new stuff every day.

Thanks for your help.
