I just installed Linux-Mandrake onto a new 733i E-tower. It has an HSP MicroModem 56k. I tried to configure the internet connection and modem, but every time I try to connect I get a message stating that the modem is busy. The phone line is free(not being used) when I get this message. Is there something I am missing?

"Modem is busy" doesn't necessarily mean that. It likely means you don't have a modem configured that your OS can communicate with.
I've got Drake 8 dual booted with Windows, and because my box came preinstalled with a Winmodem (works only in Windows), I ended up having to get an external modem that's Linux compatible. Now everything works great.
First step is to determine if you've got a Winmodem. If you've still got Windows on there, Device Manager will tell you. In Mandrake, Mandrake Control Center's the place to be.

Let us know what you find. :)

Check the modems section (http://linuxdoc.org/HOWTO/HOWTO-INDEX/hardware.html#HWMODEMS) of the linuxdocs.org site and see if you might have a "Winmodem". Only a few of the mfgs of them have released drivers.
