Hello Everyboby!
Does anybody know how to set the background wallpaper in "KDE login manager" (Redhat 7.3). When I set an image file as wallpaper I can only see it blinking once when login manager [kdm] starts but then I see the redhat logo (redhat-transparent.png file) on the background!!! How to remove the redhat logo and set my favourite wallpaper in kdm? :)

Are you talking about the splash screen that shows up immediatly after you enter your U/P or are you talking about the background on the desktop?

No, the Redhat logo on the blue background of the KDE logon console (where you choose user and password)

KDE Control Center/System/Login Manager/Background.

Yes, I know the way, but really it's not working. It worked in Mandrake 8.2 and KDE 2.2, but maybe it's a special feature of Redhat 7.3 to make everybody see their logo? Maybe anybody knows in what config file where the settings to show the redhat-transparent.png on the background are written?

I am having the same problem. When I change the background to an image of my choice, the pic flashes up on bootup but is then replaced by the boring Redhat/Blue background pic just before the login dialog appears. Please help...

A fine reason to convert into a slacker. Would Patrick put an image of himself as default wallpaper for your box? ;P
