Hi, very new to Linux (1 day), I've been messing around with the various window managers that come with Mandrake 7.2 and I like the look of Enlightenment, however it doesnt appear to have a task bar or even a place where the minimised windows go. And I have no idea how to get them back up. Is there something that I can run to get this kind of functionality?

Second question, is there a way to change the refresh rate, cos this 60Hz is starting to hurt my eyes.

thanks for any assistance :)

Enlightenment does not have a taskber with it. You should have a iconbox that is used when you minimize apps. If not click on the desktop and go to desktop maintanence (I think) and there should be an option to create iconbox. If you want the gnome panel you can start it with enlightenment.

edit you .xinitrc file to have
exec panel &
exec enlightenment

or for Kde panel
exec kicker &
exec enlightenment

As for the refersh rate all I know if is running XF86Setup again, sorry.

Thanks heaps for the Iconbox thing, thats just what I wanted.

I only have Xconfigurator, and all it has is to set the size of my desktop and the colourdepth, unfortunately it doesn't have an option to set the refresh rate :( The flicker is driving me mad! hehehe

Ok, I found that by changing the monitor I can get it to different refresh rates, and it tries to get the best it can. Problem is that I know my monitor can do 76Hz in 1156x864 (or whatever) but X refuses to let me do it. Does anyone know of a way that I can set it up at the right refresh rate?
