ive got a tnt2 ultra card but in the xf86config-4 it states tnt2 card, can this be changed so it will be an ultra, so the entry would be tnt 2 ultra or something?

SUOrangeman 07-05-2001, 01:21 PM Are you expecting any kind of performance increase by adding the "Ultra" to the descriptor? I would imagine such an increase is ponly possible by tweaking the driver settings or using a new driver. If you just want to change the text, edit /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 yourself and add the word "ultra". -SUO dvdnut 07-05-2001, 05:12 PM i was rather hoping there would be a performance increase but the way you sound there wouldn't be, so i wont Wheaty 07-05-2001, 05:16 PM Just choose 'tnt2'. I'm sure that when you install the NVidia drivers, they will take full advantage of the TNT2 ULTRA chipset... Droo 07-05-2001, 05:28 PM From my understanding, the nvidia driver should take care of everything for you. You could call it a GF3 if it makes you happy, but the driver is universal across nVidia cards. justlinux.com
