Anybody else that runs Drake 7.2 always end up with a black screen and some error messages when trying to run half of your screensavers? This has actually been happening to for a few of their recent releases and I was wondering if it was only me, and if not, how do I fix it?!?!

Well, it's hard to copy from a screensaver screen, but it's something along the lines of, "File Not Found: screensave name here/"

There's a package that you can install in drake that contains a lot of gnome screensavers. Not sure what it's called, but whenever I do a fresh install, sometimes I get it and sometimes I don't :p

I had the same problem in debian, you have to install certain programs for those screensavers to work
and the programs arn't installed

well if you want step by step help tell us wich program is missing for each screensaver, like if the error says you need "mountains" then you can come here and say the error says it can't find mountains, then we can tell you ohhh you need to go download the mountains program, theny ou can say one says get sheepsomething then we can say well ohhhh you need sheep something...come on man, what are we? magicians?

Now look here 4$$hole, Xscreensaver is a package that comes installed on Mandrake 7.2 , if you install it and it doesn't work, then there is a chance that it didn't work for somebody else out there. Maybe even lots of people. If so, then there could be a slightly know fix for the problem that I don't kknow about, which is what I was asking. I am not Linux illiterate, and I know that Mandrake doesn't install each screensaver individually. You see, a few years back RedHat came up with this type of package-installation file called the "RPM". This stands for "R"edhat "P"ackage "M"anager. This type of file used another executable and a database already installed on your running system to ensure that the installation of certain Programs and Applications went smoothly. Now this utility being Open Source, was soon adopted by other distributions of Linux, such as Mandrake Linux, which I am currently running, and am looking for a little info about. So now do you understand my request in it's entirity? Or do I need to be a little more specific so your feeble mind can comprehend it?

you have no ****ing clue,
4$$hole
your cool.
I am not Linux illiterate
coulda fooled me.
BTW, your insulting yourself by trying to insult me :)
Once again trying to help you, even though you know so much.
From the little bit of info you gave I'm assuming screensavers like SSystem, XdailClock, XEarth, Xmountains, XaoS, XFishtank, XSnow, Goban, ElectricSheep and Cosmos are some of the ones if not all of the ones that xscreensaver can't find. These screensavers depend on other packages to be installed that your great "RPM" arn't going to just tell you and/or go get them for you.
If this is the case and I hope it is, even though your a twit I still hope it helps and you get things working.
