Thanks for your help in advance - I'm new to all of this.

Anyway, I attempted to install librep 0.14 as the instructions state, but it failed with the error 'librep-0.13.3-1 (which is newer than librep-0.14-1) is already installed.

I also have rep-gtk-0.15.3 so I did not install the 0-15.1 which is the latest version on sourceforge.

Regardless, when I go to install Sawfish-1.0-1.i386.rpm it fails saying it requires librep-0.14-1 - (which I can't get installed because it tells me 13.3-1 is a newer version).

....and I'm lost ... please help.

Thanks

Why are you trying to install such an old wm ?

Isn't SawFISH up to like 2x or something ?

I've experienced this before. I think it has something to do with "dependencies" of certain packaged libraries. Anyway I worked around this on my RH 7.1 system.

All I did was use the RedHat package manager and UNINSTALLED the librep package. When I unistalled it told me that it may make my system unstable...but I did it anyway.

Once that was done I installed the newer libprep and things were allright. "Your mileage may vary" so be careful.
