Weird virtual desktop problem

Suddenly, when I load certain programs, they wind up opening on desktops other than the one I'm using. Most noticably, gaim, and red carpet.

I'm using the newest version of ximian if that helps...

I've had that happen before but usually only with Netscape. It was never enough of a problem that I had to take any drastic measures though it was annoying.

wild guess, but did you at one time hit "restore current session" (or something similar, this is kde's version), when you logged out? if so, then until you hit that option again with all your screens cleared, each time you open your desktop, it will open these. in the same regard, saving window configurations (i.e., store settings in kde) by right clicking the title bar of a window does the same thing. hope this gives you an idea to fix it
