I haven't tried kde 2 yet, not even the betas...I think I'll try it now though, I've heard enough good things.

anyone know if there are any rpms yet? not that i mind the source, prefer it, but the servers are so overloaded it will take weeks to get it. if anyone knows of a server NOT on the mirrors list, with rpms and/or source, post it (though in short order i'm sure it too will be swamped) http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif

Actually traffic wasn't that bad. :-) Just go down the list of mirrors on kde.org and you'll hit something. I downloaded KDE2 rpms and bz2's from a German site. (It helps to have a T1. :-) )

Anybody know which line I have to add to my apt-get sources.list for deb packages? If I do install kdebase I get the RC2 release instead of the official kde2

Should have known that it was feeling way to easy - do they make the betas 'easy' to install on purpose, so that when it comes time for the final your confidence is good enough that you follow thru with it and f*** everything up???

Nonetheless - I'm going to have to wait for the release of Drake7.2 final for the final KDE2...

Does anyone have or have a link of where I can find:

My current copy seems to be discombobulated or something, and doesn't want to install, and of course, all of the mirrors that I've tried have nothing but newer versions on them. I think it's amazing that -U, in most cases, doesn't _really_ upgrade, because of all the dependency shiz... Hey, I really do enjoy having to completely remove something from your computer to have to upgrade to the next version - awesome!
