Sure would love to get a list of packages required to install KDE2. Can't seem to find one anywhere. Would like to know about minimum installed requirements for X, etc. if there are any. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

1pcwarren, thanks for the link, but i have just found out that i can't use qt2.2.xx with mdk7.0, so until i get either 7.1 or 7.2,I'm up the creek, so to speak. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gif

I'd dump any distro that prevented me from upgrading something. Mandrake should not care which window manager you use. It's just wrong and it goes against the grain.

I'm using RH6.2 and the KDE upgrade was a snap. Maybe you should give that a try.
