I am trying to install Linux Mandrake 7.2 on a Pentium 200MMX, 32 MB RAM, Generic Mobo.
The PC i am trying to install Linux on to has no CD drive so i have to put the HDD into my other PC which has a CD Drive and copy the CD to the HDD, Then put the HDD back into the P200.
My Question is what do i do from here?

Another problem i am facing is that when i create i Linux boot disk of any type, EG:- HD, CD ROM, Network boot disks. When i create a boot disk and try and look at the content of the disk there is nothing on the disk!!! Anyone know why?

That is all

Thanks

To install from your HD, use a bootdisk to start the installation, when you get the question about installation source choose Hard disk.
Then you must enter the partition (eg /dev/hda2) and after that the path to directory containing /base (I hope I remember correctly, search the disk & you'll find it.)

Why don't you see anything on your boot disk?
Linux normally uses a floppy without filesystem for boot-floppy. If you try to look at it from any Windows/DOS then your disk is destroyed (or at least the raw data on it.)
Don't do that, just create it with rawrite an boot from it.
You could also have a look in directory ?? /dosutils ?? (not sure, search & you'll find it!)
It is rather easy to start from a DOS-prompt. The little info you need is also in that directory.
Good luck!

And why not install LILO in the MBR - let's find out how much Craig can take before he explodes!
