I run Gnome/Enlight. On a previous install I used only Enlight which was rather quick. With Gnome, I like the fact that I can use the desktop, but it is rather slow. That however, is not the point. My menu icons for Enlight used to actually move around if I clicked and drug them across. Unfortunatly, they would still stay on top of windows. So, I wanted them to disappear, and haven't found an answer. Lately, Enlight is running (I can middle click and get its menu), but the icons are nowhere to be seen. Any idea on what I did?

What version of Enlightenment are you using? I'd suggest 0.16.5, as it is the latest stable release.

What I don't get is the whole "menu icon" thing you are talking about. The only icons that Enlightenment has/supports would be the ones of minimized programs that go in iconboxes. I mean there are icons within the menus, but I don't think you are talking about that. When I middle/left/right-click on my desktop I get different menus, but not a "menu icon". And there is a way of keeping that menu (which I'm beginning to think you are referring to as an icon) up, but I forget how to do it (I don't like it for the same reason). If you want a quick way of launching programs, there is an Epplet that you can keep on your desktop (that won't be "always on top") that is sort of akin to the Windows "Quick Launch" toolbar, called E-FancyLauncher.

The icons for Terms, Web, Config, Exit, Restart, Clean, et cetera. Using the enlight/gnome that come with slack 7.0 These Icons are normally along the right side and bottom right
