Actually on mine it's Eterm run with the -C option. This causes it to act like xconsole which prints out messages from syslogd that goes into /dev/console. If you call xterm with the -C option, it does the same thing.

Nice of you to notice that I have a big GKrellm! But that's a bit personal don't you think? LOL Just kidding, I have it big because when I switch to disk capacity It scrolls back and forth which is really annoying. Also when you have a large monitor why not? I leave the scroll bars for a reason. Mainly so I can scroll up or down if I call on something that exceeds the current display. Here is my latest! Also I have a touch pad mouse that has only 2 buttons. So the middle click thing is a no go. This pad is to sensitive to set-up as an emulated 3 button mouse. Trust me!

In you home directory issue ls -a to see all. ten use whichever editor you prefer and add the following to you .Xdefaults

Netscape*foreground: <color> I used silver
Netscape*background: <color> I used black

Then open Netscape and viola' you can use whatever color you want as far as I know. I prefer black and silver or black and gold.

Taking a screenshot is harder than I thought. I opened up Gimp and used xtns->Screen Shot, grabbed the whole screen, then it just beeped. Now what do I do?

If you have the ImageMagick package installed you can take a screenshot even easier by just running 'import -window root <somename.jpg|png|bmp|whatever>'
It will automaticly take the shot and save it as whatever file name you gave it in whatever format you used as the extention to the filename.

Hey can Nautilus also be used as a web-browser? And if so, is it any better than KFM?

Yes, but you need to have Mozilla Milestone (M17) installed (which is also available at the eazel download site).

Well KFM (from my limited experience with it) is IMHO not as good, but Nautilus is a preview, it's not full featured, is not stable and is a memory hog.

Easiest way is to open up a console or Eterm and type xwd -out screen.jpg at the command line. It gives you a little cursor and you just click on the background to caputre the whole screen (you can also capture individual apps that way...)

Well, I updated my shot, since I downloaded Blackbox and discovered it's liter than Windowmaker. Configuration took a while to figure out but now I've got it all figured out and I must say it rules.

I'm trying to get in on this Afterstep or WM thing, but I'm haveing a prob. I'm running RH 6.2 w/2.2.16 kernel and when I try to load the RPM's for AfterStep 1.8 (?)and Window Maker off the CD I'm told I need:
for AS: libPropList.so.0 and libPropList.so.1
for WM: libPropList and libPropList.so.0

I'm a little lost, I've read a little on it, I think they should have been loaded with the rest of the packages during the install but I can't find any reference to them on the CD or in the documentation. I dont have a problem installing them now if only knew what they were or where I could find them. Anyone have any ideas?

We're going slightly off-topic. I think you should re-post your question into a new thread so that other people can see/answer it right away.

You will need to install that file first before you try to install Afterstep or WindowMaker.

Note that you don't have to download the package above. Just use Gnorpm and do an install from the Redhat-CD you got under the System Environment->Libraries tree-section.

OK, folks, here's a very simple desktop, using the new Nautilus Preview II to manage the desktop. Note the very swift icons it uses, and the graduated background, picked up in the transparent console window. This is Gnome and sawfish, but Nautilus can "take over" the management of it. http://www.raymondjones.net/screen2.html
