I have some sort of power mgmt turned on in Mandrake 7.0, don't even remember how I did it. If I leave BlackBox running, and the monitor goes to standby, I can't get the display back. Through some - don't know what, exactly - keystrokes, I can get to another tty, but the tty that had BlackBox is hosed.

Any ideas on what's going on here?
TIA
(I'm sure it's something simple. I have Linux installed, but rarely use it...)

Locate the daemon apmd, now in RedHat there are links to this daemon in every runlevel folder that will use it. For example I have these folders for run levels
/etc/rc.d/rc0.d
/etc/rc.d/rc1.d
/etc/rc.d/rc2.d
/etc/rc.d/rc3.d
etc...
Each directory repersents a run level. In these directories are links to daemons and programs which are initialized for that particular run level. I would remove the link S16apmd in my rc5.d directory and then I would not have power management running while I was in my GUI. Also check your BIOS settings and turn off any powermanagement settings there too.
