I finally got Linux up and running (thanks for all the help everyone) and I have two immediate problems (although not emergencies). First, and most important, how do I configure my network card with all of the LAN information so that I can connect to the internet? As I'm writing this I realize that it may say this in the Red Hat manual, but answer me if you know how. Also, I have my screen resolution set at 640x480 with 16bit color and it works fine, just whenever I open a window, it's always a little too large for my screen and if its not resizable I can't see the bottom and right sides of the window. Thanks.

I'm pretty new at Linux myself but I think I can help. Use linuxconf to configure your network and Xconfigurator or xf86config to change your display settings.

Also, you may find it a little easier to just open /etc/XF86Config, go to the "Screen" section and change the resolution in there. Make sure you change the virtual screen size to match the resolution, unless you want some funny behavior! http://www.linuxplanet.com/discussion/smile.gif

Eccentric, I tried running that when logged in as root and it gave me a "permission denied." What should I do?

It's not a executable, it's a text file.
Open it in your favorite editor, scroll down to the "Screen" section, and change the resolution there.
