Suns Open Response to Microsoft

Is that really an official response from Sun? The answers are kind of unprofessional, and snide.

I think the problem is, people fear getting squished by the Evil Empire is they complain too much :(

I have to agree. When I worked for Creative Labs, we were very cautious and professional when responding to customers. :)

Microsoft is not one of Sun's customers. The two companies are enemies. I think Sun's response was not out of line.

Did you read MS's original post?

Sun is large enough to not care about MS the way a little company does. Besides MS already is trying to do whatever it can to take away from Sun. And Sun has been long trying to poison MS.

Another thing to keep inn mind; Sun has its own hardware line. Choosing Sun over M$ isn't simply a matter of "is Solaris better then Win2k". The choice can be, go with Sun's top notch hardware, or some crappy x86 based solution. At this point, the OS is almost secondary.
