I haven't seen Men of Honor either ($8 is a lot when it's not a special occaision), but I've seen some of the publicity. Brashear sounds like an interesting man.
Billy Sunday wasn't a real person, but an amalgamation of people Brashear knew and had dealings with (and a friend's father made the mistake of "impressing someone" in the Army ... not smart).

I guess since I have some spare time...and I always goto movies (thanks mom and dad for sparing the $6.50 for the "cheap" theatre)
haha, now to get off topic about how my parents pay for my movie tickets...
I thought the movie was good, it sorta brought some hateful thoughts into my head though, it pissed me off to see how badly people were treated just because of their skin colour(for us canadians, I will spell it our way) and how people that associated with dark skinned people were treated just as badly. I don't know but I assume it still happens today, I don't see it myself because well I'm just plainly not dark skinned, but by all means I would love to have an *** kicking day for all those idiots that hate people for their skin colour.
ok i'm ranting about that whole racist topic...but basically that's what the movie was about. Anyways, I felt so happy in the end, to see that cuba's character had accomplished what he intended to do, no matter how much life was against him.
Anyways, I usually make it a habit of seeing one movie each week, though I've slacked off lately and I haven't gone to see a movie in a while, mostly because I had my wisdom teeth yanked out a few days ago, and well everyone needs to do something different...monotonous tasks just are plain boring after a while.
sooo what I'm saying is...maybe I can share my view on some movies every time sensei and linuxgirl go see a movie...*shrugs*
Heh-hehehe-heh.. He said colour. Okay, done with that.
I saw it, thought it was pretty damn good.. Just shows you can be anything you want if you try (/me tries to be a 19 year old multimillionaire.. Damn, I'm already too old!)
