I just got a gift subscription to this magazine, and I was looking forward to all the issues(and CDROMs) for the year. I hope they have some refund or something. It is not a cheap subscription!

Their death didn't surprise us at LJ. I expect we will all hear of

Publishing in Linux-space is quite different from other markets.
I doubt, for example, if the readers of Sunset or Wired care what kind
of software is used by the publisher. Our readers certainly do.
And, for us, actually using what we write about is certainly an
advantage.

The other post about Maximum Linux suggested a possible deal where
the Imagine Media people might want to work out a deal with us to
convert people over to LJ. My feeling is that there isn't that much
overlap between their subscriber interests and what we publish about
and, where there is, it is likely that people are already subscribed
to LJ. If you are an exception, feel free to tell Imagine Media that.
We would certainly be willing to work with them to make sure Maximum
Linux subscribers still get their "Linux fix".
