BTTV (TVcard) recording/grabbing

Has anyone made this to work? I have downloaded bttv_grab and it seems to hang each time I try to record anything. I close xawTV before doing this :) Help if you can. cheers.

I use "vcr" for recording from my bttv card, I suggest giving it a try.

I found an article (http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue62/silva.html) on how to record real media files from your TV card. I played around with it a bit but then I realized that TV sucks and there's nothing I really want to record...

try using ffmpeg ... it's actually pretty good on recording, works with my WinTV just fine ...


here's just one example how to set it up :
records into avi(divx), with bitrate 900 and resolution 640x480 and frame rate 29 (but I didn't try it for a long time, but I think it skips frames , can't do 29 :( )

ffmpeg -f avi -b 900 -s 640x480 -r 29 test.avi
