system very slow

I just connect my RH 7.1 to an Allied Telesyn router AR220E. When I connect to the net the whole system slow down. Even the pointer barely moves.

Does anyone know what is going on.

Try to run top from a terminal, and see which processes are sucking up your resources.

Apparently when going to a new site, kdeinit and X command is taking alot of the resources

What is that and is that normal?

Looks like something is really screwed up with your connection and/or Linux installation.
Don't know what, but neither kdeinit or X should boost their cpu usage this way.
