I have just set up a dual boot system with Win ME and Mandrake Linux 7.2 on my machine. GRUB the OS chooser indicates Linux is the default OS. Is it possible to set up Win ME as the *default* OS so that the machine can directly boot into Windows when it starts up? Thanks.

Yep. Go into DrakConfig (as root) and select 'Boot Options.' Here is where you can select which partition is the default, among other boot options.

Or you can edit the /etc/lilo.conf file and change the default setting from "linux" to "windows" or whatever the "label" is for windows partition.

That's only if you're using lilo, I believe. That won't work for grub.

In Grub:
/boot/grub/grub.??? <I am at work and can't remember the file name...>
Change the windows number 1 to 0 and the Linux number 0 to 1. That will set the boot focus on the windows partition. I will post and example tonight if you still haven't got it figured out. Just send me an e-mail to remind me.
