How do I change my resolution with out running SaX in S.U.S.E.?

You can press ctrl, alt, and keypad + to flip to the next configured resolution.
Or you edit the file /etc/X11/XF86Config and change the Section "Screen". I won't go into any details on how to do this as it varies from one machine to another: that's why programs like sax are used
